This page explains what cookies and similar technologies visible.md uses, why we use them, and how you can manage them.
The short version
We use a minimal set of cookies. Essential cookies are always on. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only fire if you accept them. We don't use marketing or advertising cookies — ever.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They're used to remember preferences, keep you logged in, or measure how visitors use a site. They're regulated in the UK by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

That's the complete list. We don't use Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar, retargeting cookies, or any third-party advertising cookies.
Lawful basis
- Essential cookies are placed without consent because they're strictly necessary for the site to function (PECR Regulation 6(4)(b))
- Analytics cookies require your prior consent under PECR Regulation 6. We collect this via the cookie banner shown on your first visit

You can change your consent preference at any time:

Opt out of Google Analytics specifically
Google provides a browser add-on that prevents Google Analytics from collecting data: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Other technologies we don't use
For transparency: we don't use local storage, IndexedDB, fingerprinting, or any other client-side tracking technologies beyond the cookies listed above. We also don't use server-side tracking that would identify individual visitors.

We'll update this page if our cookie use changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.
